LBP Class of 89 20th Year Reunion

On Saturday November 7th, 2009 we held our 20th Year Reunion at the Holiday Inn, Montreal Midtown.  The night was a great success with many old memories flooding back and friendships rekindled.  The evening was surreal leaving many of us feeling like we had gone back 20 years and were able to relive some great moments and definitely great new ones.   It was definitely a night to remember but don't take our word for, just read some of the comments from our classmates that followed the days and weeks after this wonderful night!

"A night to remember!
Class of 89' will forever be engraved in my heart. God bless, until we meet again. Sooner than later!"
Nadia Felice, November 12, 2009

"The time taken to prepare such an event, WOW. I cannot thank all you people (the organizers) for creating such a fantastic event. I am so glad I did not miss this. Something I will remember forever. The joy experienced in seeing all of my old friends brought back countless memories." Vince Mascia Wednesday, November 25 2009

"On this night, I was reminded of where I came from and how proud it made me feel. This was as much a family reunion as it was a class reunion. The bonds that were created then are as strong as ever today and no doubt unbreakable. A long time ago, a boy came to school with a hat on because he lost his hair while fighting a terrible disease and instead of having kids laugh at him, he was embraced by his classmates. I always meant to thank everyone for that and this as good an opportunity as ever. A few years ago, we also lost the greatest person I’ve ever known in Tony Murdaca and the Class with Class saw the necessity in honoring him as well as the beautiful Patty Porco and this only further cements how incredibly special you all are. I felt something this night that I feel everyday with my wife and daughter – the joy of love and family. You are all truly extraordinary and wonderful people. Thank you." CF  Tuesday, November 24 2009

"Awesome night indeed! It was great to see you all again. Thank you to the committee and to all those who attended for making this night an unforgettable one." Sandy DiFruscia, November 10, 2009

"Thanks to all involved in making this reunion a big success. It was a great night. I had a great time. I hope we can do this again in 10 years.
Wishing everyone all the best life has to offer."
Maria Novelli, November 10, 2009

"More than I would have expected. A great night, a great party, and a great group of people. The only bad thing about that night was that it was not long enough to say hello to everyone. Like my cousin Fiorentino said to me on sunday, these are our roots, this is where we came from. I had a great time and i beleive the pictures speak for themselves. For those of you who made certain comments to certain people about how people don't grow up, well the only thing i can tell you is that yu did not come to this reunion for the same reasons as most of us did. For the rest of us, I will be organizing a dinner sometime in late January just as a get together at Enrico Di bouno's restaurant. If you are interested, please email me and i will put you on my list......if i like you...lol only kidding....To the committe, unbeleivable job and effort...thanks.." Carlo Lobasso, November 12, 2009

"I gotta a feeling...
Hat's off to the Pearson girls...you all look great. Cheers to the Pearson boys....I could have gone for a few more grappa shots. JoeD great job at the bar. It truely felt like we had gone back more than 20 years..like many have mentioned growing up together cannot be forgotten. Although not everybody got a chance to share words...everybody in the room did share their incredible energy.
Memories came storming back...as far back as Kindergarden. From street hockey games to sock-hops, home-rooms, the baseball team, the streets of RDP...the memories are endless and different for all of us...but common in that we all came together at Lester B.Pearson.
God bless LBP & my fellow classmates "
Dino Raimondo,  November 13, 2009

"Had a fantastic time! It was truely wonderful and greatly appreciated upon all those that took time out of our busy lives to plan an evening that surely has touched each and all of us . I never imagined that going back to time could still feel so great! Ok, so when is the next get together going to be....WHY not plan a 21st CLASS 89 re-union? How about Miami Beach?"  Anna Volpicella, November 11, 2009

"WOW, what a buzz! I am stii recuperating from what was one of the best parties of my life. Seeing all those smiling faces after so many years was priceless...I cannot get those images out of my head. Life-long memories were created on November 7th, 2009. My classmates reunited in one room after 20 years, what an overwhelmimg sight! Seeing you all on the dance floor with Bucky singing along to "I gotta feeling..." brings shivers up my spine. We will always be "the class with class" and I personally thank each and every one of you for being there. Moreover, I have been receiving calls and e-mails from you, my classmates, thanking myself and the committe for our efforts. Clearly, this was indeed a TEAM effort. We created a synergy, brought all our strengths together resulting in one of the most memorable parties ever. I must again thank each committe member personally because this was a volunteer effort on our part and they willingly gave up theit time and energy for ALL our classmates. Thank-you Linda Comito, my dear friend since grade 5, the brains behind the operation, always loyal and brainstorming excellent ideas, level-headed and strong. Thanks Ida D'Agostino, always on the ball, focused, hard-working and prepared with your lap-top at every meeting. Thanks Gilda Goffredo, your selfless and caring attitude throughout the whole year, always willing to do whatever it takes to make things work, a hard-worker as well. Thanks Pina Vaccaro, the "STAR" among us all, never giving up, dedicated worker and loving personality, a trooper and a gem. Thanks Sandra Alfiero, you added an energetic vibe to the group, dedicated from beginning to end, a sales woman like no other! Johnny Scattone, a smart, down-to-earth go-getter. Johnny gets the job done right, no fuss, no muss. Lu Rolli, aka Kee Lime, positive energy, heart-warming laughter and a way with words, adding your charm and charisma, awesome job at the door.
CLASS OF 89.....a la prochaine!"
 Nancy Mea, November 11, 2009

"My high school years, I most cherish, memories of the yesterdays gone by. Maybe because we had such an amazing class, that these days I cherish so.
I had waited a long time for the night that has now come and gone,
long before I had the privilege of being a part of an amazing reunion
committee, each and every one of you has left your mark in my heart,
I will miss the laughter we shared most of all, may we have many an
opportunity to come together to relive those moments.
This magical night is gone; it was too short to be able to appreciate
all of our classmates, I wished to be able to extend the night a few
hours or days even, many of you voiced this even before this amazing
night came to an end. I will remember each and every one of your
faces for a long time to come. It was great to see we all could still
party like it was 1989, and that the teenager is still alive there
somewhere in our souls.
It was definitely much more than I dared hope for. My only wish is that
we don't wait another 10 years before coming together once again and
maybe this time all those classmates that were unable to attend for
whatever reason will be able to experience this nostalgia for themselves.
For the ones that have passed, your presence was felt on this special night, I could definitely feel the smile on your faces, RIP.
Claudia D'Anello, the poem you have posted really says it all,
THANK YOU."
Gilda Goffredo, November 13, 2009

"As I sit here reading all of your posts, tears come to my eyes and an overwhelming feeling of pride.
To the committee...my friends, for the last year you have brought lots of laughter into my life and for that I am very grateful. I looked forward to our monthly meetings and the hundreds of emails going back and forth. We arrived at that first meeting as individual but became one...we worked together as a team throughout the entire year, had each other's backs when it counted and I must say we pulled it off amazingly!!! Each and every one of you holds a special place in my heart and I will cherish you guys forever.
To my classmates,
Last Saturday was a night that will stay in my heart forever!! It was amazing to see everyone together again and most importantly to see that everyone was healthy and doing well. The night was surreal...so many memories came back to me and seeing the kids I grew up with since kindergarten and junior high as adults with responsiblities, families was amazing...we did pretty darn well for ourselves and for that we should all be proud!
What I enjoyed the most was looking into everyone's eyes and seeing that little kid just dying to come out and have some fun and that my friends we did. On Saturday night, we took the time to put aside our responsibilities and live carefree for a few hours and it felt damn good!!! In fact...watching everyone dance to "i gotta a feelin" was just amazing. Seeing old friends reunite and party like it was 1989 was just priceless.
I would like to toast the class of 89!! Hope you remember to take the time to enjoy yourselves every once in a while like we did on Saturday and remain young at heart!!"
Ida D'Agostino, Friday November 13, 2009

"I will never forget this special night! Thank you all organizing committee. Although I was a "liiiittle" tipsy towards the end of the night and I apologize if I cut off anybody while they were taking to me, it was just the emotions and the excitement of seeing everybody together at the same place.
Like some people said, I still have a sense a humor, yes it's true because life is too short. For all those who weren't there ...... you missed a heck of a night. When is the next one !!!
Let's keep in touch. Everybody was nice and everbody looked amazing !!!!
Pina Vaccaro, keep those videos coming. Too bad it's a little dark but I did see a few people with picture cameras and video cameras so keep them coming !!!"
Pat DiVagno, November 10, 2009

"I found this poem and I thought you would all enjoy it. (Some changes were made).....
Last night I went with some classmates of mine A night to remember!
Class of 89' will forever be engraved in my heart. God bless, until we meet again. Sooner than later! on a trip that traveled through past distant time.
Twenty years have gone by since that long ago May,
when we all stood together on graduation day.
There was a moment of silence, as we bowed our heads,
remembering dear friends that had gone on ahead.
In a future reunion, we shall meet them again....
close in our hearts we will keep them til then.
Everyone talking at once. Old friendships renewing.
Where do you live now? What have you been doing?
Hugging, laughing, shedding a few happy tears.
Trying to catch up in one night, all that had happened in years.
The bonds that we forged years ago are still strong.
The connections we made will last our lives long.
No matter where we go...or what our address,
precious memories will remain of our dear Lester B. Pearson High School."
 Claudia D'Anello, November 12, 2009

"I'm still on a buzz and missing Saturday night. I can't believe all the entries that are being posted on this site. We really are the best LBP class! Honestly, at some point the committee was concerned and then the theme of "I got a feelin" came about..and the rest is history LOL!!! The committee had a fantastic time organizing this and seeing all your faces on Saturday made it worth every minute. We do appologize for having contacted some of you 2 or 3 times ...but it worked!!! Pat D. stayed tuned for more pictures from me and from others as well. Nadia Filice, your video camera must have the best video's of the night, please share!! We had a blast! and to those who did not attend, till the next one cause there will be a bigger and better one! Guys, you all looked awesome! I am impressed with all of us; we are definitely a fine looking bunch. Lets not wait another 20 years to see one another again. I'll remember this for awhile but I am still eagerly awating the next one. Some one said in 5 years? I'm in!!
Andy DiCiccio, November 9, 2009

"My dear long-time friend Nancy,
We started talking about this 20th year reunion about 2 years ago; looking forward to the day all our "old" friends would come together as a graduating class. This day came and went but the memories and the buzz will live forever! You were and have proven to still be a CLASS PRESIDENT like no other. I have seen no greater enthousiasm, optimism and loyalty toward her classmates. We are so lucky to have you as a leader because you simply ROCK! The rest of the committee was so dedicated because we followed your example.
We are definitely all on-board for another Class of '89 reunion very soon!"
Linda Comito, November 11, 2009
